Rejected takeoff
In the event of a rejected takeoff, after the aircraft has come to a stop:
- PIC will announce “ATTENTION CREW AT STATIONS, ATTENTION CREW AT STATIONS”, and command appropriate actions to be taken.
- FAs – remain seated, await instructions.
- As soon as practicable, the PIC will make a PA announcement explaining what happened and the plan of action, for example, “we will be taking off again soon,” or we are returning to the gate due to a mechanical problem,” or they may advise flight attendants to prepare for an evacuation. If the PIC is unable to make an announcement, the Purser or F/A designated to make announcements will make the Aborted Takeoff announcement reminding passengers to remain seated with their seatbelts fastened.
Note: Flight Attendants must notify the flight crew immediately if conditions or events occur in the cabin that causes it to be unsafe.
