Aircraft Orientation
Exterior components of commercial jets.
An important part of flight attendant training, covered under aircraft ground training, is the introduction of flight attendants to the aircraft they will be working on. Aircraft orientation familiarizes crewmembers in training about the general components of the aircraft, inside and outside of the plane. While the flight attendants primary working area is within the aircraft, it is important that they also know the names of the different aircraft components. This way, should they observe something happen or incorrect with an element of the wing or an engine, they are capable of clearly articulating to the flight crew what they observed. It is an essential part of crew resource management, being able to clearly state your concern without generalizing and leaving the listener to try and figure out what’s being expressed.
Unfortunately, the Aircraft Orientation quiz does not display correctly in phones, however, it does display correctly on a computer or tablet. I apologize for the software limitations.
